Europes Fairytale Lake
Lake Bled is a glacier-formed, crystal blue lake, known for its castle and panoramic views. It's also close to Slovenia’s culture-packed capital, Ljubljana. The stunningly beautiful scenery, the famous iconic church on the island and carp growing to 80lb has made this one of the most desirable waters to fish in the world. The lake is around 300 acres and very deep with depths to 30metres (100ft) being common. There are very few shallow areas and fishing in 10+ meters is the norm. The stock is impressive holding 150 x 40lb carp, 70 x 50lb carp, 20 x 60lb carp and 2 x fish around 70lb with the current record standing at 75lb. The carp respond to bait very well and accessing one of the many productive areas whilst constantly introducing bait is the best method to catching the Bled carp.

Licence owner must accept the behaviour appropriate to all visitors of Slovenian national park. Behavior which is not ethical, humane and ecological towards other fishermen, park visitors, fish and environment is not allowed. The place where fishermen are fishing must contain as less of fishing equipment as possible. The fishing spot must be tidy and clean thru and at the end of fishing. Fishing equipment for Carp fishing in Bled lake requires also: a soft net at least 90 cm long, unhooking mat and antiseptic. Only nylon line is allowed. Usage of open flame and all kind of heaters for preparing hot food or beverages is not allowed. Camping outside legal camp is forbidden in Slovenia. Tents and umbrellas are not allowed. Usage of bed chair for sleeping is not allowed. Only a chair for sitting is allowed. Usage of all kind of markers which mark the feeding place is not allowed. Fishing is allowed in area of maximum 100m from the coast. Usage of maximum 5kg of bait which can contain up to 1kg of animal source share per fishing day is allowed. Usage of all kind of remote controlled shuttle for transporting and input of nutrients and other substances which pollute water and lake bottom is not allowed. Usage of any kind of boats is not allowed! Licence owner must allow authorised person ( guard ) of fishing club Bled to: check the fishing licence, identity document, fishing equipment and bait. In the event of non-compliance with the rules, fishing gear is seized! Barbless hooks only. NO radios, fires or BBQs. (Gas cookers allowed only.) NO braided main line. NO swimming or wading. NO bloodworm, joker or high oil based baits Dogs must be kept on a lead around the lakes. Ensure all nets and mats are dry.
